SENNHEISER
All our studios feature the Evolution 800 Series - e835 Lead Vocal Stage Microphone. It is a great sounding vocal mic that works very well in loud stage situations and rehearsal studios performing live music. Designed to perform under pressure the uniform frequency pick-up pattern maintains signal quality when moving on and off axis during a performance. Gentle presence boost to even tonal response ensures clarity and projection. Minimal proximity effect provides consistently clear bass and performance when singing closer to or further from capsule.
We rely on the amazing sound of Sennheiser's Evolution 900 Series Microphones to faithfully reproduce the incredible harmonic complexity and and beautiful acoustic tone of our C Bechstein 7' 7" Concert Grand and Bechstein 50" upright pianos. All our pianos are doubled or triple miked using an e914 Condenser Mic at the treble end of the soundboard, an e906 Cartioid Instrument Mic at the bass end and an e901 Boundary Condenser Mic inside. This mic combination provides extremely accurate amplified reproduction of these superb pianos and allows high sound levels without feedback.
The e914 High-Grade Condenser Microphone is for very demanding applications. Its outstanding sound properties qualify it for highly sophisticated applications such as acoustic guitars, cymbals, percussion, overhead, orchestras and grand pianos. The mic is exceptionally lively and clear sounding and has very high sound pressure handling capability. It offers great flexibility with a 3 position sensitivity switch and 3 position bass roll-off / cut-off switch. The e914 is amazingly synergistic miking the treble end of an acoustic piano's soundboard and provides superb delicacy, airyness, articulation and dynamics.
The Cardioid e906 Instrument Microphone was especially designed for guitar amps and is also excellent for piano, percussion, horns, etc. It has a very fast attack, lively full sound and a 3 position switchable sound character (bright, moderate, dark). This mic handles the bass end of a piano sound board with an incredible balance between clarity, fullness and weight. The e906 easily handles the very loud lower frequencies of even the biggest pianos without any trace of strain or smearing.
The e901 ia a Professional pre-polarized half cardioid boundary layer condenser mic for bass drum, piano and low frequency instrument applications. It is capable of handling extremely high sound pressure levels and works amazingly well mounted inside a grand or upright piano. For maximum separation in a very loud situation, the top of the piano may be closed for additional isolation without any negative impact on the mic's performance. Needless to say the sound level of an acoustic piano may be pushed to very loud levels without feedback using this internal miking. When mixed with the e914 and e906 external mics, the internal e901 Boundary Mic provides optimum piano tone at very loud levels. |
